Field-Grown Flowers From Our Ranch to Your Home
There’s something different about flowers that haven’t travelled very far.
Our flowers are grown right here at Songbird Ranch, tucked into the foothills of Alberta. We grow a changing mix of seasonal blooms and foliage, then pick them when they’re ready—not when they need to survive a long journey.
That means the flowers you find here are always changing. A little bit of July looks different from August, and August has its own way of giving way to September.
We gather what’s blooming beautifully, bring it in from the fields, and hand-tie it into bouquets with a little bit of the garden’s wildness still showing through.
Come see what’s blooming.
Our self-serve roadside flower stand is just a short drive from Millarville and is open daily throughout the summer, from 9 am–2 pm.
You’ll find fresh, hand-tied bouquets ready to take home, made from whatever is looking its best in the fields that day.
No two days are quite the same.
And that’s the best part.
Come by, pick out a bouquet, and take a little piece of the ranch home with you.
Our Specialities

Flowers for your table
Hand-tied Bouquets
A little bit of the flower field, gathered just for you.
Our bouquets are made from whatever is looking its best in the garden that day. We grow a changing mix of specialty cut flowers here at Songbird Ranch, so the bouquets shift with the season—and from one year to the next.
There’s no set recipe.
Instead, you’ll get a bouquet that feels like right now: the colours that are playing nicely together, the flowers that are blooming beautifully, and maybe a few unexpected favourites along the way.

Flowers for your celebration
Weddings & Events
Your wedding flowers begin in the garden.
Rather than choosing from a catalogue of flowers that may or may not be blooming when your wedding arrives, we work with the season we’re actually in.
During the week of your wedding, you can come walk the flower fields with me. We’ll see what’s blooming, talk colour and texture, and choose the flowers that feel right for your day.
The garden gets a vote.
And I think that’s what makes farm-grown wedding flowers so special.

Want to make them yourself?
Buckets of Blooms
We’ll grow the flowers. You get to play with them.
Our buckets of blooms are for the DIY flower people—the ones who want to gather friends around the kitchen table, make their own wedding arrangements, fill jars for a backyard celebration, or simply have an excuse to bring home a whole lot of flowers.
We’ll fill your bucket with what’s looking beautiful in the fields when your event arrives.
Buckets of blooms start at $120.

A summer full of flowers
Bouquet Subscriptions
A whole season of flowers, one bouquet at a time.
Choose weekly or biweekly bouquets beginning in July, when the fields really start to hit their stride.
Every bouquet is made from what’s blooming beautifully at the time. Early summer will look different from late summer, and that’s exactly the point.
It’s a little like having a standing invitation to the flower field all season long.
The flowers were already here
Long before there were rows of cultivated flowers, there were wild roses along the fence lines, wild yarrow along the driveway, and prairie smoke, goldenrod, mountain arnica, clovers, and daisies through the pastures—all the wildflowers that first made me fall in love with this piece of land.

From the ranch
From the Ranch
Notes from the flower fields, the garden, and life in the foothills.
This is where I’ll share what’s happening around Songbird Ranch.
There will be flowers, of course. Seed starting and garden experiments. What’s blooming. What worked. What absolutely did not work.
There will probably be some horses, too.
Maybe a recipe or two. A look at what we’re planting. A story about the ranch. And the occasional reminder that farming rarely goes exactly according to plan.
Come have a look around.
There’s usually something growing.
